Time to Blog.....

Ok, I have decided it is time to add a blog to our website. I think that we have settled in enough with the online store, (well, after nearly 3 and 1/2 years, of having this website operate we should be settled ;-)) to start talking about what is happening in the world of flowers, our shops and everything else florally related.

First of all to this who who don't know me, I am Megan Lee, (Meg), the co owner and operator of Tamar Valley Roses. I own Tamar Valley Roses with my brother Andrew. Yes, brother and sister working together, 'what a thought',  I hear you all say, no don't panic we actually get on very well, well, 99% of the time! The business was started in 1978 by our parents Helen and Peter Lee. Mum still works with us today, Dad however, died in 2015 so we are still finding our feet without him.

A photo of Peter the late 1970's after turning the soil by hand in our first greenhouse.

It is an interesting business, no two days are ever the same, but it can also be a  hard business, with long days, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year, especially the growing side of it, as although you can shut the doors of a retail shop the flowers still keep blooming even on Christmas Day. If you are interested in more of our business story, you will find more details on our 'About Our Florist Shop' page.
